Our veteran claims adjusters know the workers compensation system and can effectively manage cases because they are not saddled with huge caseloads.Our department works as a team to see that investigation is completed in a timely fashion and benefits are issued in a prompt and fair manner.

THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT IS STAFFED WITH EXPERIENCED, BONDED AND LICENSED CLAIM ADJUSTERS. WE UTILIZE PROGRAMS SUCH AS DIRECT NEGOTIATED DISCOUNTS, A PREFERRED PROVIDER ORGANIZATION, A PHARMACY BENEFIT MANAGER AND COMPREHENSIVE BILL RE-PRICING TO HELP KEEP DOWN THE COST OF MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE BUILT LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIPS WITH NURSE CASE MANAGERS, PROFESSIONAL INVESTIGATORS AND ATTORNEYS AND WE EMPLOY THESE TYPES OF RESOURCES WHEN NECESSARY.

The New Mexico Workers Compensation Administration rules state that Participants of Builders Trust self insurance group must report every accident to Builders Trust, whether or not the employer feels the claim is valid, within 72 hours of knowledge of the earlier of (a) actual knowledge of the accident or (b) presentation of a notice of accident form.
We promote the concepts of Stay-at-Work and Early Return-to-Work after an injury has occurred. Our adjusters will work with the employer, the injured employee and the injured employee's health care providers to facilitate the injured employee's return to work. This may require modified, or temporary alternate duty, during recovery.

Mike oversees all department operations including financial reserve and payment transactions. He also manages litigation as well as vendor relationships and contracts. Throughout the year Mike also spends time on legislative issues for the betterment of New Mexico's workers compensation system
Claims Department Manager
Ethan supervises the adjusters and administrative staff of the BT Claims Department. He oversees the daily operations, conducts internal audits, monitors processes and procedures and is responsible for staff training.
